I’ve got a late 2013 (63 plate) Mk 3 Octavia vRS. Petrol, DSG: exactly what you’re looking for. I’ve owned it for about 5 years and 20,000 miles and it’s been reliable and a great car to own. Not planning on selling it any time soon. I’d probably replace it with a later version of the Octavia.
Personally I just love my 2018 Octavia VRS TSI 230, although mine has a manual gearbox, which I prefer to an automatic. I am on my second VRS petrol, as I previously had a 2011 Octavia VRS TSI. They are a very practical car and taking it steady on A roads I can get 45mpg.

450 to fix with cambelt, annoying as known fault. I kicked up fuss with Skoda who paid half. Other than this, the car has been brilliant. It has cost me very little. Ive had maybe 8 Goodyear Eagle tyres 100each, and serviced at reputable franchised dealer. Reasonable insurance costs. Heated leather seats very nice. Car drives brilliantly. Great
