1.5T are relatively new in the north American market with the Taos. But if they are anything like the 1.4's i would say they are pretty reliable. [deleted] • 1 yr. ago. I own a Taos no problems yet, just a bored out 1.4T. You will have more fun with the Vw than the civic, very zippy car with the new engine.
When the 1.5TSI was introduced I expected more power, certainly another 20bhp if not more. Couldn't see the point of introducing a new engine with a bigger capacity but with the same power as its 1.4TSI counterpart. When Honda introduced their 1.5 litre engine in produces a little over 180bhp.
The 2.0-liter TSI is unchanged from the facelift, which means 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet (350 Nm) of torque on full song. 1 This Is the Damage Endured by an Engine After a 100-Shot of
Once in the zone, the car just flies and it is hard to believe that this is just a 1.4L engine. I was reading various reviews and it seems the 0-100 timings for the 1.4 TSI manual is almost similar to 1.8 TSI DSG(8.4 vs 8.2 secs). I would have liked to go for the 1.8 TSI if manual transmission was available.
I came across the Scirocco (3rd gen.) and have been looking at it for quite a while now, reading articles, review s, the usual stuff. The only (possibly) dodgy bit I found is the 1.4 TSI (160!) engine. Some people say it has no problems, however other people speak horror stories of them. So I came to this subreddit with a fair amount VW owners
1.0 TSI engine good or bad? Looking for general advice, I'm trying to buy a Seat Leon estate, the only one I can really afford is the 1.0l TSI model. I've heard in general the engine isn't great but not heard any specific reasons/issues the engine has.

FSI vs TSI. In 2008, the FSI engine was phased out in favor of the TSI engine, which had debuted in 2004 . Between FSI and TSI engines, there are some notable distinctions. Through a pump, the gasoline for FSI engines is fed into the machine. To compel air into the engine, TSI engines have a turbocharger. It was published on August 1st, 2010.
I have a chance to get a very low mileage 67 reg Audi A4 with 1.4 TSI 150 bhp petrol engine at a very good price. I just have a worry that the 1.4 is being strained a lot to produce 150 bhp - so the longevity would worry me. Apparently, Audi is no longer offering the 1.4 - it being replaced by a 150 bhp de-tuned version of the 190 bhp 2.0 TSI.

Best reasonable performance mods that are available for the 1.4 are intake, downpipe, and tune. If you want better shifting feel there are also a couple short shifters and engine mounts/inserts available. Those basic mods will run you about $1500 and your car will be marginally faster and a little more fun to drive.
Is the 1.4 TSi engine durable/reliable? Asked on 23 August 2016 by DesirableDieselMan Answered by Honest John Up to 2013 it was a chain cam engine and whether you got a good chain or a bad one was a lottery.
