the gearbox ECU works out how much oil gets used & it will tell you if the level is low by illuminating the snow & sport warning lights together (also acts as other fault warnings).you should never need to check the level unless there has been a leak. Messages: 8 • Page 1 of 1. Return to “Citroën”.
I have just bought an 04 C5 2.0 HDI VTR Auto (my first auto) and im slightly worried about the gearbox. Gearchange between 1st and 2nd is a bit dodgy at normal or harder acceleration. It seems as if it slips slightly when engaging 2nd gear. It seems to be the same when either cold or hot.4 and 6 speed automatic gearbox. Parking (Position P). Reverse gear (Position R). Neutral (Position N). The automatic gearbox offers you: Operation in auto-active mode, with automatic adaptation to your style of driving as well as to the road profile (Position D). Operation in sequential mode, with manual gear changing (Position M).
6. Shaking, jerking or grinding. With a vehicle with a gearbox bearing failure symptoms, you may experience shaking, jerking or grinding while behind the wheel. Automatic gearbox issues often involve hesitation, slipping, or trembling during gear changes. Manuals are more likely to "grind" when suffering a gearbox fault..
